All rates are quoted against the Norwegian krone (NOK), exactly as Norges Bank publishes them. Thirty-eight series in total. Cross-rates between any two of them are derived through NOK by the convert tool.

Norges Bank publishes once per business day, at about 16:00 CET. The service syncs shortly after. Weekends and Norwegian public holidays have no new rate — a request for such a date returns the published series as it stands, not an invented value. Because a day's rates never change once published, they are safe to cache.

To roughly 1980, depending on the currency — some series start later because Norges Bank began publishing them later. get_rate takes any date; get_rates_range returns a date-range series for charts and analysis.
